The Old North has embarked on a comprehensive master planning process that will include restoring the Church to its Colonial appearance and transforming the entire campus in an interactive learning environment. The plan will explore the needs of the community, the congregation, and visitors to the Old North, how we can enhance the visitor experience, and engage the educational community of Greater Boston and the nation.

We are fortunate to have primary source materials that describe the original construction and subsequent restorations of the Old North in our voluminous archives that date back to 1722, when the Church was built. These archives illustrate the lives of parishioners and the changes in the Church and campus throughout its existence. The Old North will explore the educational opportunities offered by these documents focusing not only on the lives of parishioners at the Old North but also on colonial Boston on the eve of revolution.

The Old North is proud to announce that we have selected Ann Beha and Tom Hotaling of Ann Beha Architects to assist in our master planning. Ann Beha Architects have extensive experience with restoration and preservation of the many of the nation's foremost churches and historical sites.

A brief description of the Old North's master planning process and archives were featured on a segment of Greater Boston with Emily Rooney on WGBH. To watch the short video, please click here.
