With the return of the Sounding Board this season, we took a look back at some of our favorite responses to the last question we posed: what are some factors that would make you a loyalist or a patriot?
- “To make sure that my country is always safe.”
- “If I had a say in government or not.”
- “I would want to be a patriot because I would know I was fighting for something right and just. I would have loved to be known for that.”
- “If loyalist, that I was going to fight for the nation that rightfully owns the land, and therefore, rightfully, has the ability to add taxes and laws that I believe were fair.”
- “I would stand for the side I believed would be best for me, my family, my friends, and the world around me.”
- “Your place in the social pyramid and your beliefs.”
- “I would be a patriot because it would mean that we could make decisions that benefit all, not just the king.”
- “Choice is or should be, the most central part of being human. Everyone should have one.”
