Old North Church Overview
Old North Church is a Can’t-Miss Boston Destination
One if by Land, Two if by Sea
Old North Church is world-famous for the heroic events of April 18, 1775. That evening, allies of Paul Revere broke the city’s military curfew and secretly climbed Old North’s steeple to display two signal lanterns as a warning that British troops were traveling to Lexington “by sea” across the Charles River. This brave act ignited the American Revolution.
